Can Snow Plowing be Sexist

- Invisible Women, Caroline Criado Perez.

Once the data was examined in detail it was found that if clearing snow on footpaths and cycling tracks was given priority over roads, the drop in slips, falls and injuries - mostly to women - dropped very significantly (*> 60%).

There was no "intention" as such, but because the Transport team were mostly men, who drew on their own experiences, were responsible for the snow clearing, they just assumed that what was right for them was right.  So, they were not intentionally excluding women, they just didn't think about them.
